چکیده

Abstract An algorithm to re-create virtual aggregates with realistic shapes is presented in this paper. The has been implemented the Unity 3D platform. idea realistically coarse and crushed that are normally used as a material for construction of roads. This method consists two major procedures: (i) combine spherical density function noise matrix based on Perlin obtain appropriate angularity and, (ii) deform until their minor ferret, aspect ratio thickness equivalent those wanted. efficiency tested by reproducing nine types from different sources. results obtained indicate proposed can be aggregates. Perlin noise in Real-time Computer Graphics

In general case noise means unwanted signal of different nature. In computer graphics and image synthesis term “noise” is used to call a pseudo-random function which is generally used to generate procedural textures. Perlin noise is one of the most well-known noise functions. Noise is generally used to create procedural textures, such as marble, wood, cloud textures. This requires noise to be a...

Using Perlin Noise to Generate Emotional Expressions in a Robot

The development of social robots that convey emotion with their bodies—instead of or in conjunction with their faces— is an increasingly active research topic in the field of humanrobot interaction (HRI). Rather than focusing either on postural or on dynamics aspects of bodily expression in isolation, we present a model and an empirical study where we combine both elements and produce expressiv...

CMSC 425 : Lecture 12 Procedural Generation : 2 D Perlin Noise

Let’s investigate the finer points. First, let us begin by assuming that we have an n×n grid of unit squares (see Fig. 1(a)), for a relatively small number n (e.g., n might range from 2 to 10). For each vertex [i, j] of this grid, where 0 ≤ i, j ≤ n, let us generate a random scalar value z[i,j]. (Note that these values are actually not very important. In Perlin’s implementation of the noise fun...

Completion and Reconstruction with Primitive Shapes

We consider the problem of reconstruction from incomplete point-clouds. To find a closed mesh the reconstruction is guided by a set of primitive shapes which has been detected on the input point-cloud (e.g. planes, cylinders etc.). With this guidance we not only continue the surrounding structure into the holes but also synthesize plausible edges and corners from the primitives’ intersections. ...

Possible shapes of spherical quadrilaterals

A quadrilateral is a bordered surface homeomorphic to the closed disc, with 4 marked boundary points called vertices, and equipped with a Riemannian metric of constant curvature K ∈ {0, 1,−1}, such that the sides (the arcs between the vertices) are geodesic. So the metric has the so-called conic singularities at the vertices. Let παj > 0 be the interior angles at the vertices. When K = 0, we kn...
